Mary Jane - That sugar film Part 2

Yesterday again the year 7;s and 8's watched thar sugar film again, I learned a lot more than I did in the first one I learnt how much sugar was in Tereikya sause, I also learned a lot more about how sugar can not only affect our mind and other things like that I also learnt how damanging sugar can be to your teeth.

Mary Jane and Kalo - That sugar film Part 1

Yesterday the year 7 and 8's of Tamaki primary started watching a film called that sugar film, This is a film about a fit young man eating healthy and he wanted to see and feel what sugar does to his body so he started a experanment where he had to eat at least 40 tea spoons of sugar a day yes 40 tea spoons but this meant that he couldnt eat any junk food.
When he started he couldn't bare eating all the sugar that he had to eat but than he slowy started getting used to it, Here is my slide show but this is just a small amount of the docomentry hope you enjoy.

samoan language week Fale (House) - Mary Jane

Today in room 10 we are doing a fale task is you dont know what fale is it is a tradional saoman house, this is my one and it is if you didnt know almost it is samoan language week and this is our repersentive of samoan language. I hope you enjoy my google drawing.

Value Tree - Mary Jane and Aja

Today in room 10 my group had to do something I call the value tree this is where we get given an artical or someone famous and we write about what they see and what we see, It also is a really fun task to do because it shows people what they feel and see as a person.

Mary Jane - New Tech leason / Food tech



Today at tamaki primary the year 7's and 8's went to something called tech also known as technology where we have to do fun things like cook, building and graphics the last group I was in was graphics and we learnt how to plan and design jewellery but now I am in cooking and we made a yum as ice cream milk shake and I would like to give thanks to my new teacher Miss Tuipolotu for teaching us how to make this and also because she is going to be teaching us for a long time so thank you Miss Tuipolotu.


Mary Jane - Making Hanawiti - Making sanwhiches

Today in room 10 we learned not only how to make sandwhich ( Hanawiti ) we learnt how much protein and other things like fiber and oils are in our sandwhichs and here is my sandwhichs we learned what was in our sandwhichs I have two different languaes here maori and english they are both listed the same as the english if you wanted to know.

Mary Jane - Eating plan

Last week on friday Miss Kyla (my teacher) told my class room 10 that we where going to do something called a eating plan or food plan where we had to write down our food down from the week here is my one to make this blog post interesting Miss kyla gave us some question to answer.

1 . Do you feel like you are eating a wide verity of food?
I do think that sometimes I do get different foods and things like that but I also think sometimes I need to eat something a little healthy like a salad so tommorow.
2 . Do you think you are " spending " your calories wisely?
I dont think all the time I am spending calories wisely sometimes because I dont really control my eating that much but someday I do eat healthy and around the right amount of calories.
3 . What will your eating goals be this week?
I think im going to eat something a little healthy because I need to eat less colries and walking or excersixing more so that everything can feet in.

Mary Jane - Ko te whakatuaki o te wiki

Today in room 10 we did something called the ko te whakatuaki o te wiki, this is like a maori quote if you go onto the second slide you will see what the maori quote is and the english verision of it.
I also like this task because I get to learn more maori and insripring quotes,

Mary Jane Technology - Last leason

Today the year 7 and 8's of Tamaki Primary have finished there first leason of techonology, I have learned a lot from the leasons thank you to the amazing techer Miss Ferguson for teaching and helping me with my work and also just teaching the class how to do amazing stuff like 3D drawing and other cool things,
Thank you Miss Ferguson for the leasons you have tought me.

Mother Day card - Mary Jane

Today in room 10 we did mother day cards, here is my card in the middle there is some pop up cards but I was rushing so I didnt get it sadly but here us the front of the card, the writing in the middle says how much means to me and what type of person she is and the front says happy mothers day and happy you day.

Tips for explantion writnig - Mary Jane

On wednesday room 10 had made tips for people who are just starting to write explanation writings, I write as much tips as I could and here they are they show you how to write an explanation text and what are some of the things you need to do there are also some egsamples in there just incase you dont understand what I mean, Hope you enjoy reading the tips.

Tech callenge reflection - Mary Jane and Lizzy

If you didnt know Tamaki primary schools inquiry is health.
Yesterday in Room 10 we did something called the Tech challenge which is a challenge where we had to make a Te whare tapa wha which is your different healths like mental health which in maori is Taha hinengaro, Theres your physical health which again in maori is Taha Tinana, your spritual well being is Taha wairua and the last one is family, friends and soical well being which is Taha whanau.
In this challenge I got to do it with my best friend lizzy and this is our relfection which shows what happened and what were some of the hard things during this challenge, it also shows how it was as a challenge its self this is a great challenge to work on Taha whanua soical well being because you can be soical with others in the process of doing this challenge for me, I didnt really like it because we got stuck at one point I also think that we should do this challenge with fruits and other healthy things,

Honey tasting - Mary Jane

Today in Room 10 we got to try different types of honey for me personly I do not like honey at all but I thought that it would be fun to try the different honey what was fun about this was that it was like a gussing game where you had to try finger out what the corect honey was. 
Here are some of the different honeys,
1 . Mixed
           2 .  Clover          
         3 . Pohutakawa
    4 . Manuka  

I got 2 of my answers wrong because the smell, smellet like it would be somethinng else but I did enjoy the taste testing because I did get to do it with my friends and it was funny because two of my friends liked the honey and me and another friend disliked the honey.

Mary Jane - Ode of rememberance

Today I have finished a very meaningful presentation which repersents the soilders that have died in war and that have been hurt badly, this is a very meaningful poem for those who have lost familys in the war I think this poem is very nice because of the meaning it has for those who did lose there familys and things like that.

Mary Jane - Toku Whare Tapa Wha

Today in room 9 and 10 we did something called Toku whare tapa wha which is your different healths or well beings, at the start we have to compare ourselves to a house I chose two because for me I have two sides.
The first Toku whare tapa wha is Physical health which is like running and fitness, The second health is mental health which is things like emoctions and stuff with your brain, The third health is soical relationships health which are things like friends and family, The last one is spiritual / sould health which somepeople like to be spiritual with interacting with nature or going to cruch, the last slide is what I would like to look after working on these I have also added in some photos to show what some of them mean.

Compass Poppies - Mary Jane

Today in room 10 we learned how to use a compass to make poppies I learned that the middle of the poppie is a lot harder than the big one that was the hardest thing for me doing this activtie,

WALT - Use a compass to draw different shapes.

I really enjoyed this because people around me helped me and I helped them and just in jenral I liked it because I learnt how to use a compass which will help me a lot in the future with maths and high school because I have heard you need a compass, another thing I enjoyed was interacting with some people I dont usual hang out with.

Ko Mary Jane Toku Ingoa, He uri ahua no Ngapuhi. He kotiro pukumahi. He kotiro whakama. He kotiro humarie.

My interest are, Helping others, some sports, listening to music, Hanging out with friends and family, talking and laughing with my family and friends, I also really enjoy having fun with others, I also like trying to get to know other and there ways, Sharing my learning with others and others sharing there learning with me.
